TWO JAVA MEMBERS TO APPEAR ON CNN HEADLINE NEWS ON PEARL HARBOR DAY

Comcast’s Seeking Solutions with Suzanne, a nationally-televised daily and weekly information / entertainment show hosted by Suzanne Roberts, announced that the Grant Ichikawa and Terry Shima interview is scheduled to be broadcast on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 2008.  The broadcast will be on CNN Headline News nationally on Comcast cable systems in 3 five-minute segments at 11:55am, 1:55pm and 3:55pm (EST).  A weekly, half-hour expanded version of the Ichikawa/Shima interview, can be seen at selected locations on Sunday, December 7, at 6pm (EST) on CN8 tv.

CNN Headline News and the CN8 tv half-hour weekly program reach more than 20 million viewers daily. Seeking Solutions was one of the first nationally-televised daily and weekly programs for seniors with a senior host – Suzanne Roberts.  A two-time Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award-winner, Roberts, age 87, is a visionary pioneer who, recognizing the dearth of quality television programming for the over 50 audience, created Seeking Solutions with Suzanne.  Aiming to both enlighten and entertain, the show provides information, tips and insights on topics that impact the older adult audience.

“Breaking news and analysis programming is a huge part of our world now,” stated Roberts, “and my primary concern was to make sure that viewers would be able to enjoy both broadcasts.”

Ichikawa and Shima, both members of the Japanese American Veterans Association (JAVA), were interviewed earlier this year at the Seeking Solutions with Suzanne studio in Philadelphia by Suzanne Roberts on such points as the President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Executive Order 9066, life in internment camps, Japanese Americans combat duty in Europe and the Pacific war zones to prove their loyalty, America’s  national apology and correction of its violation of the constitution.
